Business Empowerment Academy

The Gary W. Rollins College of Business 2022 Business Empowerment Academy (BEA) is a 5-day residential summer program that is free of charge to all participants.
The program is open to rising high school juniors and seniors who will be first-generation college students, students on free or reduced lunch, or under-represented students (i.e., Native American, African American, Asian American, Hispanic) who are academically talented rising high school juniors & seniors (a junior/senior in the fall of 2022) with a minimum GPA of 3.0. The program will focus on building a portfolio of skills in networking and overall professionalism while reviewing the various majors offered in the Rollins College of Business and learning more about the college experience. As part of the program, students will participate in a presentation challenge and each member of the winning presentation team will receive a $1,000 scholarship to attend UTC as a business major.
The Business Empowerment Academy offers the opportunity to interact one-on-one with university professors and successful business professionals through a variety of hands-on workshops, field trips, and seminars. In addition, students will get a preview of college life and the Chattanooga experience through recreational events that include athletic activities, picnics, visits to area attractions, and more.
The program includes visits to top employers of Rollins College of Business graduates. Students will experience personal interaction with top-level executives as well as behind-the-scenes tours.
Program participants will explore each of the business disciplines - accounting, finance, economics, entrepreneurship, marketing, and management - in interactive formats designed to provide insight into those disciplines and potential business career paths. Download the BEA program flyer.
