Parents and Guardians
Parents/Guardians,
The Business Empowerment Academy is designed to be a hands-on experience for your students. We will have lots of company visits, workshops with faculty, and discussions with business leaders. This program will give your student the opportunity to learn more about business networking and professionalism, sample college-life, all while learning more about UTC and the Chattanooga area. Not only does this program help prepare them for college itself, it also provides networking opportunities that can follow your student into their working career.
Students will stay in the newest dorms on campus, the South Campus development where they will have their own bedroom in a 4-bedroom apartment. Some meals will be ordered and delivered to our location; some meals will be eaten at local restaurants. Most lunches will be eaten in the University Crossroads Dining Hall. This will give your students a chance to experience 'college life' first hand.
Program Ambassadors are upper-level Gary W. Rollins College of Business students or graduate students who can share their own college experiences with program participants. Students will be able to meet with students from different organizations on campus to learn about college life, academic options, student support services, study abroad opportunities, and ask lots of questions.
While our schedule is jam-packed with company visits and workshops, we also want your student to have a fun and educational experience.
Sincerely,
Catherine Middleton
