Entrepreneurship at UTC’s Rollins College of Business
Entrepreneurship drives job growth and innovation in the U.S. economy. The Gary W. Rollins College of Business at UTC emphasizes entrepreneurship education to prepare students for successful business careers.
Programs and Opportunities
- Entrepreneurship Major & Minor: Business majors gain a strong foundation in marketing, accounting, management, and finance, with advanced coursework in entrepreneurship topics like cash flow management and business planning. Non-business majors can complement their studies with an Entrepreneurship minor.
- Pitch Competitions: Sponsored by the Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship, these competitions offer students real-world experience in salesmanship and business analysis, supported by mentoring from faculty and community members.
- Partnerships: Collaborations with TSBDC, Co.Lab, and the Edney Innovation Center connect students with Chattanooga’s entrepreneurial ecosystem.
Entrepreneurial Initiatives
- Annual Entrepreneurial Forum: Promotes dialogue between students, faculty, and entrepreneurs.
- StartUp Week Chattanooga: Actively supported by the Entrepreneurship Department.
