Applied Research and Special Projects

Projects are contracted under the supervision of the director of the center and may involve direct services of the director, faculty, students, and associates of the center (individuals hired for project-specific tasks who are neither faculty nor students at the university). Although projects will most commonly be related to engineering and engineering management, other specialty areas such as construction, safety, computer science, economics, marketing, mathematics, chemistry, and biology will be drawn upon as needed.
The overall activity of the center is expected to lead to an understanding by regional employers and agencies that the center is a valuable resource that will partner with them in solving problems, training personnel, and producing improved products and services. Additionally, the Center will provide an avenue of relevant activity in which students and faculty may support important regional, technological growth.
