Computational Science and Engineering is the solution of practical engineering/science analysis and design problems using physics-based computational models and supercomputer simulations.
Computer Science and Engineering
The computer field drives innovation in many other fields, including medicine, education, business, communication, and entertainment. The variety of applications of computer science and engineering makes for highly-creative and challenging projects. Working in the computer field might mean building web-based applications, providing security for sensitive information, developing systems to process scientific data, writing software for new mobile devices, and much more.
Electrical engineers work in every industry, from automobiles and aircraft, to video games and manufacturing. Many electrical engineers follow their designs from conception to manufacture, routinely leaving their desks to work in labs or in the field. All major advances in technology heavily leverage electrical engineering. Whether it's developing the fastest computer or controlling a stealth fighter, electrical engineers are there.
Engineering Management and Technology
Engineering Technology Management is an interdisciplinary mix of management and engineering. It involves the application of engineering principles to business by combining the technological savvy of engineers with the organizational, administrative, and planning abilities of managers. These joint disciplines oversee complex enterprises from conception to completion in virtually unlimited areas like project management, construction management, product development, quality control, etc. for manufacturing, service, construction, retail, and finance organizations.
Mechanical Engineering is the discipline that deals with motion and energy, including the transformation of energy from one form to another, its transmission, and its utilization. Mechanical engineers conceive, plan, design, and direct the manufacture, distribution, and operation of a wide variety of devices, machines, and systems for energy conversion, environmental control, materials processing, biomechanics, fluid dynamics, automated manufacturing, materials handling, and other purposes. Mechanical engineers are engaged in all the engineering functions, including creative design, applied research, development, and management.
