CECS Students should plan to regularly check out listings on Handshake, which is UTC’s job board and tailored to our students, and Career Launch (via Canvas), which is specifically designed to support CECS students. We also recommend using LinkedIn, a public job board with many entry level and internship opportunities posted. Read more about each resource below.

Apply to the latest jobs and internships from employers that want to hire students like you. Some examples of companies that utilize Handshake are: TVA, Mohawk Industries, Shaw Industries, McKee Foods, Mueller Industries, Unum, Blue Cross BlueShield , Miller Industries, Wright Brothers, EMJ Construction, EPB, along with hundreds more.
Students can use Handshake's mobile app to:

Career Launch
What is Career Launch? Career launch is available to all CECS students on Canvas. It is a free platform that includes announcements about upcoming employer networking opportunities, workshops, internship, co-op, or job openings. Career Launch also provides progressive career search support and targeted resources to UTC College of Engineering and Computer Science undergraduate students preparing for careers. It's designed to add support and tools to empower students to navigate to their successful future. CECS students are added to this organization automatically within the first few weeks of the semester. If a student does not see Career Launch on their Canvas page, they should email us at [email protected] and we will get them added right away!
