UTC Residence Life office on site:

  • Fully staffed with a Resident Director, Resident Assistants and a Receptionist.
  • Resident Assistants will be on duty during the evenings to assist students.
  • Staff will coordinate programs and handle any concerns just like the on campus residence halls.
  • Office and Community Room located on the second floor above the main lobby.

Parking is not included with your housing fee.  We recommend that students living in overflow housing not bring cars, as we provide shuttle service to and from hotel and campus. 

  • Shuttle schedule to and from campus:

    • Monday - Friday 7:00am to 10:00pm, 2 shuttles available (running every 15 minutes, shuttles will leave campus and the hotel every 15 minutes)

    • Saturday & Sunday, 11:00am to 7:00pm, 1 shuttle available (running every 30 minutes, the shuttle will leave the hotel on the hour and campus on the half hour)

    • August 14th-17th there will be 1 shuttle following the weekend shuttle schedule.

    • Shuttle service provided by Parking Management Services, Inc.

  • Students may purchase a campus parking decal and leave their car on campus then use the hotel shuttle as necessary.

  • There are private parking lots and garages nearby that student may contract on their own. Downtown Chattanooga Map

  • Linens will be changed twice a week on Monday and Thursday between 8:30am and 6:00pm. Please remove personal items from bed.

  • All UTC Housing and Residence Life polices will be enforced at the hotel.

  • Monthly Health and Safety Inspections will be conducted at the hotel.

  • Mail - You may have your mail sent directly to the Hotel.

  • Lost key - students who loose their room key will need to go to the front desk to get a replacement. You will need to show ID. Additionally, your roommate will also need to come to the front desk to get a new key.

  • Any maintenance concerns can be reported by dialing "0" from your room phone.

  • UTC is not responsible for incidental charges place on a room. Students using room service, phone calls and/or Pay Per View should pay at time of service.

  • Students in overflow housing will be assigned to campus based on their application complete date (earliest dates first).

  • Students will receive an email to their MOCS email account when a room change has been processed.

  • During the summer we will move students from overflow to campus up until August 16th.

  • Assignments will not change between August 16th and August 25th.


  • Typically during the 2-3 week of school we will move students from overflow to campus as space permits.

    • Students in overflow housing will be assigned to campus based on their application complete date (earliest dates first).

    • Student will receive an email and phone call when a space on campus is available for them.

    • The student should then report to their on campus complex to check in and receive their key.

    • The student will have 48 hours to move out of the hotel and into their assignment on campus.

    • The student must check out of the hotel with UTC’s Residence Life staff.

    • Moving assistance will be provided by our maintenance staff during this time frame only.

* Moving may continue throughout the semester as space becomes available however after the first month of classes moves will slow significantly. Residents who remain in overflow will have priority placement on campus for the spring semester.
