Providing support to students, faculty and staff who are impacted by sexual misconduct, relationship violence, and stalking.

Prevention

Developing programming, training, and events that promote healthy relationships, encourage bystander intervention, prevent sexual violence, support survivors, and foster a respectful campus community.

Policy

Updating and revising UTC’s Policy on Sexual Harassment, Sexual Assault, Dating and Domestic Violence, and Stalking regularly to ensure that it is current and reflects UTC’s campus goals and values.

Response

Addressing and investigating reports of sexual misconduct, relationship violence, and stalking, and working through the conduct process with those impacted by these types of cases.

Title IX Education

Visit this section for information about Title IX education for various groups at UTC.

  • Students
    New first-year, transfer, and graduate students complete Title IX education via UTC Learn (Canvas), the University's student learning management system. This is accessible to students by using their Central Authentication Service (CAS) credentials (UTCID and Password).
  • Employees 
    Employees complete Title IX education via K@TE, the University's employee learning management system. This is accessible to employees by using their Central Authentication Service (CAS) credentials (UTCID and Password).
  • Student-Athletes
    Student Athletes students complete Title IX education via UTC Learn (Canvas), the University's student learning management system. This is accessible to students by using their Central Authentication Service (CAS) credentials (UTCID and Password).
  • Athletic Staff
    Athletic staff complete Title IX education via K@TE, the University's employee learning management system. This is accessible to employees by using their Central Authentication Service (CAS) credentials (UTCID and Password).

    The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga does not discriminate on the basis of sex in our education programs or activities, including admissions and employment.  The University is required by Title IX not to discriminate in such a manner. The University has a Policy on Sexual Harassment, Sexual Assault, Dating Violence, Domestic Violence, and Stalking which may be accessed at utc.edu/sexual-misconduct.

    Title IX Grievance Procedures and University Response 

    The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga utilizes grievance procedures to address complaints and formal reports of sexual harassment.  Those procedures are contained within the University’s Policy on Sexual Harassment, Sexual Assault, Dating and Domestic Violence and Stalking.  Individuals may file a complaint or formal report of discrimination based on sex including sexual harassment by contacting the University’s Title IX Coordinator or Deputy Title IX Coordinators by form at www.utc.edu/report, phone at (423) 425-4255, by email at [email protected], or by mail to Title IX Coordinator, University of Tennessee at Chattanooga, Dept. 1951, 615 McCallie Avenue, Chattanooga, TN 37403. Such a report may be made at any time (including during non-business hours).
