Summer Guest Housing
The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga is a great place to host your Summer camp, conference or group!
Here’s a snapshot of what we offer:
- Convenient location in Downtown Chattanooga
- A short walk to the Chattanooga River Park, Bluff View Arts District, and other local attractions
- Economical summer guest housing in the residence halls and apartments from May 18 - July 19
- A variety of meeting and event rooms
- Catering available through UTC Dining Services
While the majority of summer guests do attend conferences, classes or events held on campus, housing is also available for groups not affiliated with the University.

- Community Room Reservations
Community Rooms are available in most locations at a rate of $30/day. Charges begin the day you pick up key to the community room and end the day that all of your things are removed, and the key is returned to UTC Housing.
- Complexes with available community rooms include: West Campus, Johnson Obear, Boling, UC Foundation and Lockmiller Apartments.
- The Stagmaier community room and kitchen are available for use but cannot be reserved for any specific group. Utilizing the community space as retail space is prohibited.
- All requests for retail accommodations should be directed to Auxiliary Services.
Guidelines
- RATES:
- All rooms (GUE(singles), STO, WLK) will be charged at the rate of $35 per person per night, plus tax.
- Lockmiller, Guerry (doubles), and West will be $30 per person per night.
- A tax-exempt form must be provided to UTC Housing by all groups to avoid being charged Tennessee state tax (9.25%).
- Community rooms located within each complex are available for an additional fee of $30 per day.
- It is the responsibility of the group coordinator to ensure the group is following UTC Policy.
- Housing & Residence Life will not be responsible for isolation and quarantine of any summer camper or conference guest. The sponsoring department will assume all responsibilities and should notify Housing and Residence Life staff of any exposure or confirmed positives.
- All Summer Camps/Conferences will not be permitted to stay past July 19th, 2026.
- Check-in Guidelines
Groups under 50 participants: Check in/out will be completed by housing staff who will be available for two hours that day. Staff Available 24 hours a day and each group is assigned a Resident Director to help with logistics and planning.
For groups over 51 participants: 51-150 participants: staff available for two hours on check in/out day. 151+participants: staff available for four hours on check in/out day (hours determined by each group's needs)
If additional times are needed for early arrivals, late arrivals, early departures or late departures, then an administrative fee will be charged to the camp/conference.
- Reservation Counts & Charges
When considering your housing numbers, please make sure your numbers include participants, coaches/chaperones (spouse and children of coaches) and staff. Children under the age of 13 are not permitted to stay in on-campus housing. The housing options below are subject to change, based on renovation projects and budgetary concerns.
Charges are per night per person. Reservations for groups are based on the total consecutive number of nights, from when the key is picked up and participant is checked in to the day the key is returned and the participant checks out.
- Chaperone Requirements
Supervision Needed. The following chaperone coverage should be provided:
*Children under the age of 13 are not permitted to stay in on-campus housing.
One adult per 25 students, minors 13-17 years old is required. These chaperones will act as the liaison between the Conference Housing Staff in the event of discipline, noise or destructive behavior. At least 7 business days prior to the camps' arrival, group should provide a list of names of those adults who will be staying on campus. If groups are not able to provide adequate supervision, then Housing will hire Campus Security or an outside security agency to monitor the group between the hours of 5 p.m. and 8 a.m. Camp/Conference group will be charged the cost and an additional 5 percent.
- Minors On Campus
Groups with participants between the ages 13-17 will need to complete the License for Use of University Property for Program Involving Minors form before rooms can be blocked for your group.
- Building Access/Swipe Cards
- Only adults may receive an affiliate ID card for the university.
- Minors will not be issued access cards.
- Please allow 2 weeks for processing:
- Group Coordinators will need to collect the Last Name, First Name, Date of Birth, Email, Phone number and headshot/photo of each person.
- Group Coordinators, who work at UTC will need to apply for an affiliate account for those they wish to get cards for from IT. Non-UTC groups, submit the information to [email protected].
- IT creates affiliate accounts.
- Mocs Card office will print the swipe cards.
- Housing staff will assign swipe access to the assigned building.
- This all must take place prior to your groups check in date.
- Instructions can be found to create a sponsored affiliate account.
- Once the account is created, the group coordinator will need to submit photos and ID#'s to [email protected] to have the cards printed ahead of time.
- For off-campus groups, please work with your Resident Director to complete this process.
- Packing Suggestions
As you prepare your group for check-in, there are a few things you should consider when telling them what they will need to bring.
Each apartment/room is equipped with air-conditioning, wireless internet and ethernet, extra-long or full-size beds, dressers, desks and chairs.
Linens: Pack sheets, blanket/comforter, pillow, towels and toiletries.
Other items: Alarm clock, hangers and a clothes iron.
Laundry: detergent and dryer sheets.

General Timeline for Summer Camps/Conferences
November
Groups submit initial inquiry forms for each group they are hosting on campus.
January
Groups who have completed the inquiry form by the priority date of the Tuesday after Martin Luther King Jr. Day will have meetings scheduled to review the agreement, policies, and procedures prior to dates and bed counts being locked in.
February/March
Groups submitting inquires after the priority deadline will be reviewed based on availability remaining.
Agreement, policies, and procedures meetings conducted. The agreed upon agreement will be sent out following the meeting. Groups have 1 week to sign the agreement and return it to [email protected].
April
Logistics meeting with Assistant Director for Guest Services and Resident Director working with the group.
30 Days Before Check-in
Deposits due for all non-UTC groups.
All Summer Camps/Conferences will not be permitted to stay past July 19th, 2026.
