Resident Assistant Application Process

The Resident Assistant position is one of the most rewarding experiences you can have on campus. This position provides an opportunity to meet new people, make a difference in the lives of others, and teach you skills for your future. As an RA, you will have an opportunity to graduate with a unique skill set and memories that will last a lifetime!
Resident Assistant Info Sessions:
Attending an information session is not required but highly encouraged.

Resident Assistant Mixers:
Mixers are an opportunity to meet with your Resident Director and Resident Assistants in an informal setting to ask question and get your face out there! If you are unable to make it to the meeting in your residence hall you can always visit a different hall and meeting.
- Boling – Wednesday October 20 from 7:30-8:30PM in the Community Room
- Johnson Obear - Thursday October 21 from 7-8pm in the Community Room
- Lockmiller/Stagmaier - Thursday October 21 from 4-4:30pm in the Stagmaier Lobby and 4:35-5pm at the Lockmiller Volleyball Pavilion
- West Campus - Tuesday October 19 at 8:11pm in the 1st floor conference room
- Guerry/Decosimo - Tuesday October 19 from 7-8pm in the DG office at Stacy Town Center
- Stophel - Wednesday October 20 at 4pm in the Stophel Courtyard
- Walker/UCF – Tuesday October 19 from 7:30-8:30PM in the Activity Room
Resident Assistant Application:
Application opens October 11, 2021 and closes on January 14, 2022.
Complete the application, including providing personal information, answering 2 short essay questions, and attaching a resume.

Resident Assistant Reference Form:
Applicants are asked to have two references for this position. One reference must be a current Resident Assistant. The other can be a professor, mentor, former employer, etc. A family member or friend is not considered a professional reference.

Applications and Reference Forms must be submitted by January 14, 2022. There will be a review of applicants in November and January. Please pay attention to your Mocs email for information regarding individual and group interviews.
Qualifications:

Must be enrolled as a full-time, UTC degree-seeking student for each semester of employment (at least 12 credits for undergraduates, 9 credits for graduates)

Must have earned 24 credit hours by the start of employment.

Must have a conduct record in good standing with the university.

Must have a 2.5 GPA to apply. If you drop below a 2.5 semester or cumulative GPA prior to your start date, your job offer will be rescinded.
Expectations:

Staff members are expected to attend all training sessions and staff meetings (Thursdays from 8-10pm during the academic year).

Staff members are expected to remain registered as full-time students at UTC in good academic standing (2.5 overall and semester GPA).

Staff members are permitted to take on up to 10 hours of any other employment, internships or engagement with Resident Director approval. Beyond 10 hours must be approved by an Assistant Director.
