UTC Summer Pedagogy and Conducting Institutes
The UTC Summer Pedagogy and Conducting Institutes are designed for music educators and ensemble directors who want to improve their conducting, rehearsal techniques, and teaching strategies.
Hosted at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga, these summer institutes provide a focused and supportive environment to learn from nationally and internationally recognized clinicians.
Participants engage in a combination of lectures, hands-on practice, and ensemble rehearsals throughout the week.

Ways to Participate
There are separate Choral and Instrumental tracks, each with two one-week Institutes, for a total of four Institutes. Institute participants can register for 3 hours of graduate credit (2 weeks required) or select the non-credit option for 30 or 60 professional development hours (1 week or 2 weeks, respectively).
In addition, participants who attend for professional development only (non-credit) can attend as an Auditor for reduced fees. Auditors will attend every session, but during rehearsal, masterclasses will only perform with the ensemble and will not have podium time for feedback from the clinicians. Finally, teachers working for the Hamilton County Schools can audit for a drastically discounted rate! See below for details.

If you wish to participate in professional development/continuing education, either as a Conducting Fellow or Auditor, follow the steps below.
