Opera Workshop

The UTC Opera Workshop is an ensemble that performs programs of opera scenes as well as full-length productions. Students are given instruction in performance aspects like character development and how to move onstage, along with basics of stagecraft and theatrical production. Music is chosen according to the abilities and interests of enrolled students and includes repertoire from opera, operetta, and musical theater. This is an auditioned ensemble but is open to all UTC students. Most auditions are heard during the semester-end vocal jury process, but if the student is a non-major, they can contact the UTC Opera director, Dr. Perry Ward, to set up an audition at [email protected].
