About the Studio
The percussion program at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga is committed to developing well‑rounded percussionists who excel in performance, education, research, and community engagement. Through a balanced and innovative curriculum, students receive individualized instruction while upholding a high standard of musical excellence. The program emphasizes versatility, cultural awareness, and historical understanding of the percussive arts, preparing students to thrive in a variety of professional contexts. The UTC Percussion Studio also serves as a regional hub for percussion by hosting concerts, clinics, and festivals that enrich both the campus and broader community.

Ensembles
Percussion Ensemble
Directed by Professor Ethan McDaniel, the UTC Percussion Ensemble is dedicated to diverse repertoire across chamber and large ensemble settings with a focus on musical excellence. Open to all majors. A placement audition is held on Sunday afternoon before classes begin each semester. Please visit UTC Percussion Ensemble for more information.
Additional opportunities include the Wind Ensemble, Marching Band, Jazz Ensembles, and various chamber groups throughout the Music Department.
