American Red Cross Lifeguard Courses

Spots Available: 10 each course
Price:  $250 per person
Location:  ARC Pool & Classroom

Description:  Become certified as an American Red Cross Lifeguard and learn the skills needed to prevent and respond to emergencies in a clear-water aquatic facility.  This course includes Lifeguarding, CPR for the Professional Rescuer, and First Aid.  All certifications are valid for two years. 

To enroll, participants must:

• Be at least 15 years old
• Swim 200 yards continuously
• Tread water for 2 minutes
• Retrieve a 10-pound brick from 10 feet of water

This is a Blended Learning course.  Online coursework must be completed prior to the in-person sessions.  You will receive an email with online learning instructions closer to your course start date.

American Red Cross Lifeguard Recertification Courses

Spots Available: 10 each course
Price:  $125 per person
Location:  ARC Pool and Classroom

Description: This Lifeguard Review Course is designed to refresh and assess the skill and core knowledge required to recertify in American Red Cross Lifeguarding.  Successful completion provides a 2-year Lifeguarding/First Aid/CPR/AED certification.

Eligibility: Participants must present proof of a current American Red Cross Lifeguarding/First Aid/CPR/AED certification.

Please Note: If your certification has been expired for more than 30 days, you must enroll in the full Lifeguarding course instead of the review.

American Red Cross Lifeguard Instructor Course

Price:  $295 per person
Location:  ARC Pool and Classroom 

Description:  The Lifeguarding Instructor (LGI) course trains instructor candidates to teach American Red Cross student-level courses, including Lifeguarding, First Aid, and CPR/AED for Professional Rescuers and Health Care Providers.  Candidates must be at least 17 years old and hold a current American Red Cross Lifeguarding Certification.

This is a Blended Learning course.  Online coursework must be completed prior to the in-person sessions.  You will receive an email with online learning instructions closer to your course start date.

Description:  The American Red Cross Lifeguard Recertification Couse includes an online blended-learning portion and at least 6.5 hours of in-person classroom time.  The in-person duration may vary depending on the material covered.

American Red Cross CPR/First Aid/BBP Training

Price:  $90
Location:  ARC Classroom

Description:  As an EMT, firefighter, athletic trainer, or lifeguard, is it your duty to respond to cardiac or breathing emergencies until more advanced medical personnel can take over the patient's care.  From assessing needs and making decisions to providing care, this program provides the skills you need through discussion, video, and hands-on training based on real-life rescue scenarios. Additionally, you will learn how to clean up biohazard spills using proper and safe techniques.
