Dr. Alycia Franklin previously tenured at the University of North Carolina Asheville. She received a B.S. in Merchandising and Marketing from the University of Mississippi; M.S. in International Retail with concentrations in Human Resource Management and Marketing from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville; and a Ph.D. in International Retail and Marketing with concentrations in Communications and General Business from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. Dr. Franklin has published in peer reviewed professional journals and presented papers at both academic and industry conferences. She maintains an active consulting business throughout the United States. Most recently, Dr. Franklin held a Chief Marketing Officer position with a holdings company. Additional business experience includes marketing management for a regional hospital, sport marketing consulting, fashion marketing consulting, real estate marketing, and business marketing strategy.

Prior to her joining UTC, she was a tenured Associate Professor at UNC Asheville, Associate Professor at Lee University, and an Assistant Professor of Merchandising and Marketing at Georgia Southern University. Dr. Franklin has taught a variety of courses, including: Principles of Marketing, Promotion Management, International Marketing, Marketing Strategy, Pricing Strategy, Consumer Behavior, Marketing Research, Sport Management and Marketing, a Spanish/Business Immersion Study Abroad Experience, Principles of Management, Applied Management, and Business Calculations. Dr. Franklin has also taught courses in the areas of fashion and communications.

Dr. Alycia Franklin resides in Signal Mountain, TN. She lives with her husband Tim and children Carter, Abby, Bennett and Campbell. In addition, she is actively involved in a variety of community organizations throughout the state of Tennessee.
