Leaves of Absences
The University understands employees may encounter personal, family, or medical situations that require time away from work. Established leaves of absence are designed to provide structured and compliant support during these periods.
We aim to ensure employees can address significant life events or obligations while maintaining clarity regarding their rights, responsibilities, and available resources. By offering a range of leave options, we strive to support employee wellbeing and uphold a consistent, transparent approach to time away from work.
A leave of absence allows an individual to temporarily leave the work environment with the intention of returning to their position. During the leave, employees maintain a relationship with the University that provides access to benefits and no break in service.
The most common reason for leave includes:
- Family and Medical Leave (FML)
- Paid Parental Leave (PPL)
- Educational Leave
- Military Leave
Refer to the left navigation menu for more information on specific leaves of absence.
