UTC Celebrates 140 Years
Honoring our past, shaping our future—UTC launches a yearlong 140th anniversary celebration to recognize its Chattanooga roots through Founders Week, community service, community events and Gold Fridays throughout the year.
1886 Challenge
UTC is pledging 18,860 hours of community service in 2026-27 through the University's new volunteer leave policy for faculty and staff. Students are also encouraged to take part in Mocs Volunteers.
140 Events for 140 Years
To celebrate its 140th anniversary, UTC is hosting 140 events on campus and across the Chattanooga region, from performances and public programs to health screenings and community outreach.
Gold Fridays
UTC is promoting Gold Fridays throughout the year to encourage everyone to show off their Gold Mocs Pride. Information is coming on free UTC Gold 140th Anniversary t-shirts.
Founder's Week
UTC Founder's Week takes place Sept. 14-18, with daily events, awards, ceremonies and special programs, including the University's official 140th birthday celebration.
