At the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga, we believe in the power of personal stories and the responsibility each of us has to boldly shape our own. That belief is at the heart of the Chancellor’s Challenge Coin tradition—and especially the coin inscribed with the phrase: “Your Story. Be Curious and Bold.”

Each student receives this coin during their academic journey, with the opportunity—and responsibility—to pass it along at any point during their time at UTC. 

It is meant for someone they wish to inspire to become a Moc: a friend, a sibling, a classmate, a future college student who they believe belongs at UTC. In sharing this coin and a hand-written letter, students are saying, “I see your potential. I believe UTC is the place where your next chapter should be written.”
