Gold Fridays: A New UTC Tradition
Dear faculty, staff and students,
I am excited to introduce a new campus tradition: Gold Fridays.
Every Friday, I invite all UTC faculty, staff and students to wear gold and show their Mocs pride. Whether you are in a classroom, working in an office, conducting research, volunteering in the community or attending a UTC event, wearing gold is a simple but meaningful way to demonstrate the spirit that connects us.
For 140 years, generations of Mocs have helped build a University that transforms lives, creates opportunities and strengthens Chattanooga, our region and our state. Gold Fridays will help make that connection even more visible across our campus and throughout the community we proudly serve.
I encourage student groups, departments and offices to make Gold Fridays their own. Gather your team for a photo to post on social media, welcome students in UTC colors and share your Mocs spirit wherever the day takes you. Together, we can fill our campus—and Chattanooga—with gold each Friday.
Be sure to submit your group photos in the form below so we can promote and celebrate our Gold Fridays each week.
Traditions become meaningful because people embrace them. I hope Gold Fridays will become a weekly reminder of the pride we share in UTC and the bright future ahead of us. I look forward to seeing you in gold throughout this milestone year.
Go Mocs!
