Jazz Band - Spring 2019
UTC Jazz Band concert, April 17, UTC UC auditorium, 7:30pm, free admission
Will feature two student jazz combos. Music by Randy Brecker, John Coltrane, Miles Davis, George Gershwin, Roy Hargrove, Billie Holiday, Antonio Carlos Jobim, Rodgers and Hart, and Christian Scott. Also featuring original music by ensemble member and percussionist Colin James.
UTC Jazz Band, Hunter Museum, Jazz + Art, April 18, 6pm
Featuring two student jazz combos, each performing music specifically inspired by two modern art paintings-Hans Hofmann's Scintillating Blue and Paul Jenkins's Phenomena Royal Violet Visitation. Will include original music by ensemble member and percussionist Colin James. Students will discuss the specific connections between the selected jazz music and pieces of art.
