Recruitment and Employment
Search Procedures
Federal and state laws, as well as University policies, prohibit discrimination in employment on the basis of race, color, religion, creed, national origin, sex, disability, age, veteran status, sexual orientation, gender identity, marital status, and genetic information. Federal affirmative action regulations likewise require proactive efforts to diversify our faculty and staff.
Primary Goals of the Recruitment and Selection Process:
- To attract a diverse array of highly-qualified applicants to the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga
- To provide all qualified applicants an equal opportunity to apply for faculty and staff positions at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga
- To ensure that all searches are conducted using standardized methods and processes
- To encourage promotional opportunities for existing faculty and staff, particularly in the areas where they are presently underrepresented
- To take affirmative action to address any areas of underrepresentation of women or racial/ethnic minorities in the ranks of the university’s faculty and staff.
