In-School Programming

Every fall and spring semester, GEAR UP at UTC partners Math and English/Language Arts teachers in GEAR UP schools with Teaching Assistants. Teaching assistants are instrumental in building a college-going culture among our cohorts, and they provide academic support in the classroom.

Teaching assistants can find themselves busy during the school day doing a wide variety of tasks that vary from teacher to teacher. In some cases, teaching assistants have been able to present a lesson to the classes they work with.
