After You've Applied
Here are the finishing touches.
Graduation Evaluation Report
A Graduation Evaluation Report is a PDF of your MyMocsDegree evaluated by your Graduation Specialist in the Office of the University Registrar.
After you have applied to graduate, your Graduation Specialist will send you your Graduation Evaluation Report, highlighting where you stand in your degree completion progress. It is imperative that you regularly check your UTC email for communications from your Graduation Specialists.
You must also communicate any issues that you may have concerning finishing your requirements for graduation with your graduation specialist.
Current Address and Telephone Number
Make sure your account has current and accurate contact information in the event that we must contact you prior to Commencement.
To update any other addresses or telephone numbers, go to your MyMocsNet Account> Services Tab.
Your graduation specialist will make every attempt to contact you if you have not met the requirements for graduation after grades have been posted.
Senior Exit Exam
All students are required to complete the Senior Exit Exam during their final semester of enrollment.
Students will not receive their diploma until the exam has been completed.
Confidential Flag Information
If you previously submitted a request to the Office of the University Registrar requesting that your directory information NOT be released, your name will NOT appear in the Commencement Program.
To have the confidentiality flag removed, you must submit a request in writing to the Office of the University Registrar.
The request must be submitted prior to the printing of the Commencement program, usually five weeks before Commencement.
University Honors- Undergraduate Students
Honors designations are based on students’ UTC GPA and are determined after grades for the final semester of enrollment are posted to the student's record.
Grades are not finalized until after the Commencement ceremony so students will be identified during the ceremony as Latin Honors Candidates.
To be eligible for Latin honors at UTC, students must have a minimum of 60 earned hours at UTC.
- Cum Laude: granted when the student's cumulative institutional GPA at the end of the final semester is at least 3.5. (GPA of courses completed at UTC)
- Magna Cum Laude: granted when the student's cumulative institutional GPA at the end of the final semester is at least 3.7. (GPA of courses completed at UTC)
- Summa Cum Laude: granted when the student's cumulative institutional GPA at the end of the final semester is at least 3.9. (GPA of courses completed at UTC)
Name Pronunciation Practice
Closer to the commencement ceremony, you will be notified by email of opportunities to verify the pronunciation of your name.
If you have any concerns about the accurate pronunciation of your name, it is important that participate in one of those opportunities.
If you aren't able to participate, the Commencement RSVP survey also includes space for you to provide pronunciation guidance.
