Applying for Graduation
Undergraduate & Graduate Students must apply for graduation online. Applying to graduate in the semester that aligns with your actual degree completion is the best way to ensure you're getting the most accurate info!
*Want to join us for a May or December commencement ceremony, but need another semester to finish your coursework? Be sure to apply for the semester that you'll technically finish your degree requirements, and we've got just the thing for you!

Application Opens: Aug. 2025
To receive a priority registration time ticket*: Apply by Feb. 15, 2026
For inclusion in the printed Commencement program: Summer applicants are listed as "Candidates" (Spring) or "Graduates" (Fall) in the respective printed program.
Application Closes: Aug. 11, 2026
Graduation Application Instructions – The first term on the application should be the current term (not the term in which you plan to graduate).

Application Opens: Jan. 2026
To receive a priority registration time ticket*: Apply by March 15, 2026
For inclusion in the printed Commencement program: Apply by Oct.31, 2026
Application Closes: Dec. 11, 2026

For inclusion in the printed Commencement program: Apply by March 31, 2027

Eligible candidates who apply by this deadline will receive registration time tickets for the first morning of currently enrolled student registration.
Check-in to see where you stand.
- Steps to Graduation for UNDERGRADUATE Students
- Apply to Graduate.
- Update/Verify your personal information in MyMocsNet.
- Check for Account Holds (Bursar, Library, Parking, etc.) and clear/resolve them.
- Important: Some holds will prevent the mailing of your diploma.
- Respond to the Graduation Survey once you receive it via email!
- This will help you ensure your Diploma Information (name, mailing address) is correct & verify your commencement ceremony attendance plans.
Additional Info
- Notify your Graduation Specialist of any changes that may affect your graduation (academic changes, name or address updates, etc.) immediately so all records can be updated.
- Participation in the Commencement Ceremony is optional.
- If you plan to attend the Ceremony, you can purchase a University cap and gown with the online order process through the bookstore. If you are unable to purchase during the ordering times, please contact the bookstore ([email protected] | 423-425-4107) for assistance.
- Graduation Day—note there will be no rehearsal. Arrive at McKenzie Arena 45 minutes prior to scheduled graduation time.
