Student in Distress
When any member of the University community identifies a student that they believe may be in distress, concerns should be reported utilizing the Community Member of Concern form available at www.utc.edu/coc. Urgent concerns should also be reported via telephone to the UTC Office of Student Outreach & Support (during business hours) at 423-425-2299 or the UTC Police Department (during or after business hours) at 423-425-4357. Personnel from the UTC Counseling Center, with the assistance of the UTC Office of Student Outreach & Support or the UTC Police Department, will evaluate urgent student concerns 24 hours per day.
Please note that certain laws and University policies require that faculty and staff report information to the University, including the Policy on Sexual Harassment, Sexual Assault, Dating and Domestic Violence, and Stalking/Title IX Policy and the Student Suicide Prevention, Intervention, and Postvention Policy.
