Patrol Services

The Patrol Services function as the largest service within the Police Department. Patrol Officers provides the highest level of security and police assistance for 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Whether our officers patrol campus or the surrounding area in vehicles, bicycles, Segways or on foot; they perform a wide variety of services. Duties consisting of, but not limited to:

• responding to calls for service
• conducting preliminary investigations
• routine inspection of university lights and emergency call buttons
• writing reports
• performing vehicle assists
• checking the security of university property
• providing traffic enforcement

All officers are certified in Tennessee as fully sworn commissioned law enforcement officers. UTC Police Officers enforce University rules, regulations, as well as all state laws. University officers work closely with all local, state, and federal agencies.
