There are a lot of on-campus offices designed to help students make the most of their college experience. Here is a summary of what each department does and how they might help you.
- Career Connections - University Center 108
UTC Career Connections provides UTC students and alumni with the confidence and skills to find their purpose, thrive in your career, and contribute to your communities. Through a wide array of services and resources designed to explore interests, enhance networking connections and provide personalized guidance, you will be empowered to pursue your goals, chart your own path to success, and build a satisfying, rewarding career.
- Center for Academic Support and Advisement - Library 335
The Center for Academic Support and Advisement (CASA) promotes academic excellence and encourages self-directed learning and exploration. We support students through tutoring, Supplemental Instruction, academic coaching, and additional programs and services that promote student success. Additionally, the advisors in CASA help students in their academic growth and adjustment to university life. Advisors provide academic advising for most first-year students as well as for students who have not declared a major.
- Center for Global Education - Lupton 117
The Center for Global Education includes the Office of International Student and Scholar Services, the Office of Study Abroad, and the English as a Second Language Institute. We support international students, visiting international scholars, English language learners, and MOCs interested in study abroad. We also promote cultural exchange and international cooperation at UTC through special events and campus initiatives throughout the year.

The Center for Well-Being is a resource for discovering a healthier, well-balanced lifestyle. We provide you with the tools, knowledge, and community to help you take care of yourself by developing coping skills, recognizing warning signs, practicing self-care, and helping others.

- Counseling Center - University Center 338
The mission of the UTC Counseling Center (UTCCC) is to enhance the mental health, interpersonal relationships, and education performance of UTC students to promote a healthy learning community. The UTCCC is committed to serving students and will continue to offer both in-person appointments and telehealth sessions for students located in Tennessee. We continue to offer a variety of services to assist students in managing difficulties that may be impacting their academic and personal success while at UTC such as counseling, case management, psychiatric services, and crisis intervention.
- Disability Resource Center - University Center 352
Building a culture of access at UTC, it is the mission of the Disability Resource Center (DRC) to provide leadership for cultivating a proactive culture of disability awareness on our campus and in our community. By developing partnerships with a broad diversity of people, the DRC facilitates in the removal of barriers and the creation of accessible environments, programs, and services. The DRC provides opportunities for education and advocacy in collaboration with students, faculty, and staff in support of our university's core values.
- Financial Wellness Center - University Center 201
A campus-wide financial literacy program that offers money management events, workshops, guest lectures, and one-on-one financial coaching (100% confidential). Financial Wellness covers a variety of areas like overcoming student debt, money management/budgeting, understanding credit cards, understanding and building credit scores, planning/saving for the future, and avoiding financial pitfalls, to name a few.
- Health Services - Maclellan Gym
University Health Services (UHS) is here to provide optimum health care to every student, faculty and staff at UTC. Our staff of nurse practitioners provides services including visits for acute and chronic illnesses, physical exams, screenings, immunizations, lab services, TB skin testing, and allergy shots. Students are not charged for office visits, but minimal fees are charged for lab tests and immunizations. We also offer a personal health insurance plan for those not already covered by a family plan.
- Office of Multicultural Affairs - Lupton 119
The Office of Multicultural Affairs (OMA) is committed to enhancing the academic, social, personal and professional development of all students through programming, support and activities. OMA provides programs and services that foster multicultural engagement and promote cultural learning. All events are always open to the entire campus community.
- Student Outreach and Support - University Center 399
The Office of Student Outreach & Support (SOS) provides case management, basic needs services, and general support for students experiencing a disruption to their normal academic studies due to physical or mental health concerns, personal or family concerns, and other issues that may arise. These supports include helping students navigate University administrative processes, connecting students with University and community resources, and student basic needs services, including Scrappy’s Cupboard, Student Emergency Fund, Short-Term Emergency Housing, and Technology Loan Program. These services and support aim to help students develop resiliency, self-advocacy, and coping skills. In addition, SOS provides education, guidance, and support to faculty, staff, family members, and other community members regarding student-related concerns. This support includes how to work with students of concern, when to make referrals, and management of concerns regarding students who exhibit behavior that is worrisome to others or disruptive to the University community.

UTC's Student Success Programs are devoted to making sure you have the best college experience possible by offering many new programs, like First Year Mocs, Second Year Mocs, First Gen Mocs, and various Faculty-led programming, for all students finding their way in a new environment.
- Student Support Services - 739 McCallie (Barr Building)
Student Support Services (SSS) is a federal TRIO program funded through a U.S. Department of Education competitive grant process. The name TRIO stands for the original three programs that were part of President Lyndon B. Johnson's War on Poverty. The programs were established by the federal government to ensure equal educational opportunity for all Americans, regardless of race, ethnicity, or economic situation. Our purpose evolved out of the belief that students, when provided with the tools, resources, and information necessary for success, will have a greater chance of graduating. We aim to embody a holistic program that facilitates and customizes services that address the academic and non-academic needs of participants at each level of their college experience.
- Veteran's Affairs - Hooper Hall 102
We know the college experience for veteran and active duty students isn’t exactly traditional. That’s why we offer the tools—social and educational programs, unique study spaces, guidance, information, and referrals—to help you succeed, in and out of the classroom. Veteran and Military Affairs' mission is to provide the best possible support services to active duty service-members, veterans, reservists, and their family members. We’re here for you. And we’re here for the community. We regularly offer programs to the UTC community that increase awareness of the unique needs of student veterans.
