Center for Academic Support and Advisement
The Center for Academic Support and Advisement (CASA) promotes academic excellence and encourages self-directed learning and exploration. We support students through tutoring, Supplemental Instruction, academic coaching, and provide additional programs and services to promote student success. Additionally, the advisors in CASA help students in their academic growth and adjustment to university life. Advisors provide academic advising for most first-year students as well as for students who have not declared a major.

How can we help?
Schedule an Advising Appointment
First-year freshmen and undecided majors: Schedule an advisement appointment by emailing your advisor.
If you don't know who your advisor is or have general questions, email us at [email protected].
Academic Exploration
Are you looking to change your major or explore your academic options? Are you a first-year student interested in our Academic and Career Exploration (ACE) Residential Learning Community (RLC)?
Supplemental Instruction
Supplemental Instruction (SI) is a free academic support program that uses peer-assisted instruction to enrich the learning experience in historically difficult courses.
Peer Academic Coaching Program
Peer Academic Coaches assist students in becoming independent, self-assured learners. Through on-going conversations, a Peer Academic Coach (PAC) can help you develop and implement strategies to achieve your academic goals. Coaches help students achieve success by providing structure, study-skills building, and accountability. Services are entirely free to currently enrolled students.
Tutoring
Tutoring services offered through the Center for Academic Support and Advisement are FREE to currently enrolled UTC students. While most tutoring is appointment based, some walk-in and virtual tutoring options exist. Please consider meeting with a tutor early and often to have the best experience.
