Getting Started in UR Workshop Series
Attending a workshop is the first step in the UR journey.
Students seeking to participate in UR should attend both workshops in this series.
- Getting Started in Undergraduate Research - This introductory workshop provides an overview of undergraduate research at UTC. Attendees learn about the benefits of UR engagement, and how to get started.
- Navigating an Undergraduate Research Position: Finding a Mentor and Preparing for Success - This hands-on workshop guides students through the process of identifying UR positions, and connecting with prospective mentors.
Workshop attendees receive complimentary URaCE swag!
Students who attend an Office for URaCE Workshop are entered to win EITHER:
- A $500 scholarship to use towards an Office for URaCE summer program OR a Chromebook. Details will be provided at the workshop!
Registration for Fall 2025 workshops will open in early August.

Are you interested in developing your personal brand identity for career success? The Office for URaCE hosts a variety of professional development seminars during the fall and spring semesters to help you build your skills and prepare for future success. Topics include how to apply for paid, summer undergraduate research programs, and how to navigate graduate school applications. Students who want to build skills and prepare for success at UTC and beyond are encouraged to attend.
