Honors Society
Kappa Delta Pi
Each spring we induct top students at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga School of Education into the local Mu Alpha Chapter of Kappa Delta Pi. KDP is the International Honor Society in Education, a prestigious network of educators founded in 1911. To learn more about KDP, please visit the international site.

To be invited to join KDP, teacher candidates must demonstrate excellence in academics and zero documentation of negative dispositions. Minimum membership criteria are defined by the international office. Upon induction initiates pay a one-time fee of $13, in addition to local and national dues.
Upon successful completion of their studies, members in good standing are celebrated with the bestowal of the green and purple honor cord to wear at graduation. Members are considered "in good standing" if they participate in annual service projects, attend member meetings (twice annually), and keep local and national dues up-to-date ($12 and $47 respectively).
