NSF Noyce Grant
The UTC Robert Noyce Track 2 Teacher Fellowship Program is sponsored by the National Science Foundation, and seeks to encourage talented professionals in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) disciplines (Biology, Chemistry, Computer Science, Engineering, Geology, Mathematics, and Physics) to pursue careers in high school and middle school teaching.
What does the fellowship offer?
This program allows the student to earn their M.Ed. in Secondary Education in 1 year (Summer, Fall, Spring, and Summer courses; a total of 36 hours).
The student will receive funding to cover the cost of tuition, fees, and books.
A $10,000 salary stipend for each of the first 4 years of teaching after fellowship completion.
What are the student responsibilities?
The Noyce fellow agrees to teach for 4 years in a high-need school within Hamilton County within the first 6 years of M.Ed. completion.
Take on a leadership role within the school or district, while fulfilling the teaching service commitment (e.g., participate in curriculum development, assist in the planning and implementation of professional development experiences, and/or participate in pre-service teacher education).
