Math Placement Test
This 60-question test is similar to the ACT Mathematics Test, and your score on this test can be used for placement into one of the following Math courses at UTC:
- Math 1130: College Algebra
- Math 1730: Combined Pre-Calculus
- Math 1830: Calculus for Business, Life and Social Sciences
- Math 1950: Calculus I
- Math 2150: Math for Elementary & Middle School Teachers I
- Math 2160: Math for Elementary & Middle School Teachers II

How to Review for the Math Placement Test
This test is similar to the ACT Math Test, so it is suggested that you review an ACT Practice Test prior to taking the test. You can find practice tests at www.act.org (Links to an external site.).
Placement Test Instructions & Access to the Test
You will register for Canvas using the link below. On Canvas, you will find all the instructions about the Placement Test. You will also be able to take the Placement Test on the Canvas course when you are ready for it (no appointment necessary).
