General Education History Requirements
UTC students are required to complete 40-41 hours of general education (GenEd) requirements. Complete information can be found on the UTC's General Education site.
If your catalogue year is 2023-24 or after, the following History courses will fulfill these GenEd requirements for "GenEd 23":
- Writing and Communication - HIST 2100
- Humanities and Fine Arts - Most 1000- or 2000-level US or world histories classes
- Global and Individual Citizenship - Most 1000- and 2000-level US or world histories classes
If your catalogue year is earlier than 2023-24, the following History courses will fulfill GenEd requirements for "GenEd 14":
- Historical Understanding - Any 1000- or 2000-level class (except HIST 2100 or special topics "R" courses)
- Non-Western - HIST 1110 and 1120; any 2000-level world histories class (except 2940r)
- Rhetoric and Composition II - HIST 2100
- Thoughts, Values, and Beliefs - HIST 1110
