General Education History Requirements

UTC students are required to complete 40-41 hours of general education (GenEd) requirements.  Complete information can be found on the general education webpage.


The following history courses will fulfill GenEd requirements:

  • Historical Understanding - Any 1000- or 2000-level class (except HIST 2100 or special topics "R" courses)

  • Non-Western - HIST 1110 and 1120; any 2000-level world histories class (except 2940r)

  • Rhetoric and Composition II - HIST 2100

  • Thoughts, Values, and Beliefs - HIST 1110, HIST 3420
