The UTC Events Calendar enables members of the UTC campus community to easily share, manage and publicize events from a single, convenient platform. In addition to adding an event manually, if requested, the platform can automatically pull in feeds from other calendars across campus such as events hosted by Mocs Athletics, the UTC Library and more. Stay up to date on all UTC Events with this helpful tool.

- How do I subscribe, via Outlook, to calendar feeds for specific Event Types, Topics and Audiences?

- Navigate to the designated calendar you wish to subscribe to. An example would be if you wanted to subscribe to the Academic Calendar Events feed.
- Once you are on the correct page, click on the filter tab. At the bottom of the filter results, click on the clock button to download the .ics file to your computer.
- Once the .ics file is downloaded to your computer, go here for instructions on how to add this event feed to your Outlook calendar.

- What size photo should I use for my event?

- What is the UTC events feed and how do I use it?

The UTC events feed is a personalized weekly email that communicates upcoming events based on your interests. You can create an unlimited number of events feeds. Check out this "How To" guide for more information.
- If I submit an event to the UTC Events Calendar (Localist), does that automatically reserve the event space?

No. The UTC Events Calendar is a tool used to communicate about your event. You MUST reserve your event space separately through UTC Spaces. Go there to learn more about the reservation process and how to secure a location for your event.
- I want to be a group admin for the UTC Events Calendar. Who can I contact for these permissions?

- What is Localist?

The UTC Events Calendar is run using a software called Localist. This software is the one stop shop for all UTC events.
- I am not sure which calendar I need to submit my event to. If I submit my events on a different calendar, do I need to resubmit my event here?

UTC uses several calendars to communicate events to different audiences. Below are the calendars currently used and their intended audiences.

MocSync – Events on this platform are hosted by student organizations and communicate student-oriented activities happening on campus.

The Library Calendar – Events on this platform are hosted by and take place in the UTC Library. It serves students, faculty and staff.

The Academic Calendar – Events on this platform are created and monitored by the Registrar’s Office and communicate important upcoming academic deadlines to students.

The Athletics Calendar – Events on this platform communicate upcoming UTC athletics events to students, faculty, staff, alumni and the public.

UTC Events Calendar - All-inclusive UTC calendar. This platform incorporates event feeds from the calendars mentioned above and those submitted directly to the UTC Events Calendar.
Events communicated on this platform can be intended for current and prospective students, faculty, staff, alumni and the public. Since the UTC Events Calendar is all-inclusive, events can be submitted manually or be auto-populated from feeds from other campus calendars. If you don't see your event on the UTC Events Calendar, you can submit an event manually.

- I submitted an event, but now I need to make an edit. How do I do that?

Once an event has been submitted you can see it listed under your user dashboard. If you click into the event there will be an "Edit Event" button available to make updates.
- What is the difference between a group and a department?

Localist designates groups and departments as functionally the same, they just live in separate directories within Localist. Groups are typically used for student organizations or community clubs. Departments are usually used for academic or internal departments.
- Where is the "Power C" mentioned in the video?

Once you are logged in, you will see the Power C in the top right hand corner of your screen that will lead to your dashboard. If you upload a user profile photo, that will replace the Power C.
- I am confused by some language used in the UTC Events Calendar.
