PHOTOGRAPHY GUIDELINES
- The office of Communications and Marketing provides photography for marketing, web and publication use. Preference will be given to photos that can be used for marketing and recruitment, and events that involve the entire campus such as Graduation, Welcome Week and Homecoming.
- We place emphasis on making photos of students engaged in events, research, internships, community work and classroom activities. Please fill out the form if you would like to request photo coverage.
- As general rule, we do not provide photography for awards ceremonies, retirements, going away receptions, departmental graduation ceremonies, fundraising events, or guest speakers.
- Regular photography hours are Monday–Friday, 8 a.m.–5 p.m. Our photographer may or may not be available outside these hours. In the case of unavailability, a list of recommended freelance photographers will be provided that you may hire at your expense.
HEADSHOTS
Faculty and staff: For consistency, faculty and staff headshots are made outdoors between Founders and Fletcher Halls. Please email [email protected] to be notified when the next headshot session is scheduled. Faculty and staff will receive proofs of 10 unedited photos from which to choose your final shot. Let the photographer know which photo you would like edited and prepared for use.
Students: For consistency, student headshots are made outdoors between Founders and Fletcher Halls. Student headshots are provided only for official university use or other website needs (student employees, SGA, etc.) We do not provide student photos for personal use (such as LinkedIn.) Students will be provided a high-res digital file of one photo, chosen and edited by the photographer. Supervisors should email [email protected] to arrange for student worker headshots.
GROUP PHOTOGRAPHY
We generally are not able to accommodate group photos. For further inquiries regarding group shots, please contact [email protected].
MEETING/LUNCHEON PHOTOGRAPHY
We generally do not document meetings and luncheons. In the case of a covered event or luncheon, photography will be provided during a 20-minute window. For the best images and minimal disruption, we highly recommend this window fall before or after attendants are eating. Please contact [email protected] for additional information.
PHOTOGRAPHY ARCHIVE
Images are organized and archived on UTC's Photoshelter page. Select an image to download, and you will be prompted to sign up for a required, free Photoshelter account. If you need to download photos on a regular basis, contact [email protected] for more extensive download privileges.
