Literature
UTC offers BA and MA degrees in Literary Studies. Our classes train students in literary analysis and writing and cultivate an extensive knowledge of literary history and theory.
Students study the work of writers as diverse as William Shakespeare, Toni Morrison, Edgar Allan Poe, Willa Cather, and J.R.R. Tolkien. And they develop proficiency in a variety of academic disciplines such as childhood studies, disability studies, queer theory, Africana studies, and women, gender, and sexuality studies.
In addition to taking core literature classes and electives, Literary Studies students pursue an internship or produce a thesis to fulfill program requirements.
Our graduates have pursued careers in diverse fields that include marketing, publishing, theatre production, law, copywriting, and international relations.
