Advising in Biology, Geology and Environmental Science

Geology Advising: In Geology, all advising/career mentoring occurs with the faculty. This includes all BS Geology degrees, including Environmental Geology, Geoarchaeology, Geohydrology, Geospatial Science, and Geology STEM Education.

Biology and Environmental Science Advising: In Biology and Environmental Science, you are assigned a General Advisor and a Career Mentor. First-time freshmen are assigned a General Advisor from the Center for Academic Support and Advisement. Transfer students and students beyond their first year are assigned a General Advisor from the College of Arts and Sciences Success HUB.

• CASA Advisor: Your CASA advisor will meet with you twice each semester of your first year to help you select courses and navigate college. CASA advisors are listed on your MyMocsDegree.
• HUB Advisor: The general advisor will meet with you every semester and help you select courses to reach graduation. The HUB advisors are listed on your MyMocsDegree.
• Career Mentor: You should also meet with a career mentor once a semester. These are faculty who have specific expertise in your area of interest. Follow the tables below to find the appropriate career mentor. In each topic area for Biology and Environmental Science, there are several faculty listed.  You may select from any faculty in that area.
