We're so happy that you've chosen UTC as the place to continue your college career. The following steps are necessary in order to secure your place at UTC!
Your first step should be to create a password in the MyMocsNet system. You can do so by going to the UTC Password Management and following the instructions listed for First-Time Password Setup. Even if you have attended UTC before, please go through the First-Time Password Setup. All official UTC correspondence will be sent to your UTC e-mail account.
Students wanting to apply for scholarships (institutional or endowed funds) must complete a separate online application. As always, please keep in mind that scholarships are very competitive and funds are limited, so APPLY EARLY. Last day to apply for Fall 2018 consideration is July 1, 2018.
More than 75 percent of our students receive some form of financial aid. You can fill out the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) beginning October 1st. In order to receive the most funding possible, we recommend filing by April 1st. You can estimate your cost of attendance by visiting https://utc.studentaidcalculator.com.
It’s never too early to apply for a room in one of our premiere Residence Halls. You can submit an online housing application beginning November 1st for Fall 2018.
Students living in campus housing are required to participate in a campus meal plan. Check out the Campus Dish for more information!
Reserve your spot in orientation by signing up for an orientation date. Reservations begin October 1st for Spring 2018 and on January 15th for Fall 2018.
Before registering for classes do you need to take any placement exams? Students who have prior college credit (or AP credit) in math (except for UTC’s Math 2100 equivalent) have a starting point based on transfer credits. If you do not have any math credit, or if the only credit you have received is for Math 2100, your starting point is based on your highest ACT math subscore. For English placement we use a Directed Self-placement to determine which class you should take if you haven’t already received transfer credit in Engl 1010 or 1020. The state of Tennessee requires that all students enrolled in state colleges and universities meet certain immunization requirements. UTC students must submit a completed immunization form before they are eligible to register for classes.
Don't forget to request that your final college transcript be sent to the Undergraduate Admissions office. We will add any pending coursework from your last institution to reflect the most accurate UTC academic record. If you received AP, IB, Cambridge or CLEP credit at your other college or university, you will need to resubmit your original score to the Admissions Office to receive appropriate credit at UTC. After you register for courses, you will receive a financial statement called the "Mocs Express Statement from the University sent to your UTC email account. This statement will reflect all tuition that you owe, plus any housing, meal plan and other applicable fees. Your financial aid and scholarships will also be credited on the statement. If you don't pay by the deadline, you will be dropped from your courses.
