High-Impact Practices Development Grant recipient Christina Vogel employed one award to gain access to internationally-noted artist Alex Callender for workshops and student mentoring. The visit coincided with an exhibition of the artist’s work here at UTC.

A second grant allowed her to acquire new studio equipment that enables her students to experience open-air painting, getting out of the studio into a natural environment. This grant served two sections of painting classes and was awarded in time to provide these materials to a select group of students who traveled to Italy for an outdoor painting workshop.
