Background: Deborah McAllister is a tenured, UC Foundation Professor in the UTC School of Education. She joined the UTC faculty in the fall semester of 1993. Previously, she taught at the University of South Dakota, and at the high school level in Kansas and Massachusetts. She is licensed to teach secondary mathematics and biology in Tennessee. She served as Faculty Senate President from 2012 to 2014, and was the 2014 recipient of UTC's Outstanding University Service Award.
