UTC STEM Education Program

What is the UTC STEM Education program? 

The UTC STEM Education program is designed for undergraduate science (biology, chemistry, geology, or physics) and math majors who are interested in teaching. It helps students explore career options and prepares them for licensure to teach science or math in grades 6–12.

Students in the program gain hands-on teaching experience while earning a four-year degree in their chosen science or math field and completing the requirements for a teaching license. After graduation, they can begin teaching, pursue graduate school, or work in a science or math career.

The program is modeled after the successful UTeach program at the University of Texas at Austin.
