Residence Hall Association (RHA)
What is RHA?
A great way to get involved on campus!
The OFFICIAL voice of UTC housing residents – Turning Halls into Homes
- MEMBERS: Any student who lives in one of UTC’s residence halls.
- OFFICERS: Elected board members who manage programming, advocacy, and support for those in residence life. This includes, but is not limited to, the President, VP, and others.
- CONFERENCES: Executive board members who travel to local, regional, and national leadership conferences exchange ideas, network with other RHA organizations, develop leadership skills, and HAVE FUN!!
- PROGRAMS: Events are designed to foster community bonding and provide students with opportunities to get involved, learn more about RHA, and meet their representatives in housing.
- INITIATIVES: RHA strives to make a positive and lasting impact on students as well as on residence life. We are currently collaborating with the Department of Housing and Residence Life to develop a solution for charging stations for students who own electric scooters and reside on campus. RHA is also working to bring educational videos to students about procedures for maintenance, recycling, and more.
Getting Involved
The executive board meets bi-weekly to discuss business related to the organization and the residence halls, as well as to plan programs, create service initiatives, and more. Our primary source of information from students is surveys, and we regularly host events on campus that provide opportunities for students to share their experiences. We also strive to collaborate with other student organizations to inform students about who we are, what we do, and how to get involved. Opportunities to share feedback also arise from marketing efforts in the residence halls, as well as our social media channels. We are always accepting volunteers to help set up events, which is a great way to understand our operations and get to know the board.
Working with us can also offer valuable leadership and professional development skills. By joining our executive board or becoming an active member, you will have opportunities for development and the chance to form connections with various leaders on campus. RHA has partnered with ThinkAchieve to encourage students to get involved beyond the classroom. More information about ThinkAchieve can be found at https://www.utc.edu/academic-affairs/walker-center-for-teaching-and-learning/experiential-learning/beyond-classroom-challenge. Students can gain community engagement experience by working with RHA, which offers leadership and professional development opportunities and builds lasting community connections. More information about how to join our executive board will be posted on our social media channels when the time comes for elections.

Be a representative for your community! If you or a group of students have any issues in the residence halls or have suggestions for events/service initiatives, please let us know! Student feedback is the backbone of our organization, so feel free to contact us at any time at [email protected].
