Pre-departure material: coming soon
Entrepreneurship and Economic Development. The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga will provide a launching pad for the next generation of entrepreneurial ideas that change minds, influence processes, positively change the world through the exploration of economic development and entrepreneurship, across the economic, cultural and geographic landscapes. The Institute will expose participants virtually then in person to current themes in studies of economic development and entrepreneurship including leadership in community development. The issues will be explored from numerous angles: local grassroots activism and civic initiatives, market-oriented approaches, and federal government policies and regulation. The Institute will explore economic development and entrepreneurship in the context of a globalized society, and draw comparisons between the United States and the participants’ home countries. The Institute will also provide opportunities for participants to engage virtually and then in person with policy makers, individuals in technical positions, community representatives, indigenous leaders, and other key actors committed to the promotion and management of social entrepreneurship. Participants will also have the opportunity, following the completion of the program, to participate in a virtual conference and then the following year join us for in person programming at UTC.
The countries represented include: Denmark, France, Estonia, Cyprus, Finland, Greece, Iceland, Italy, Latvia, Moldova, Norway, Portugal, Romania, Russia, Slovak Republic, Spain, Sweden, Ukraine, and The Netherlands.
