Music Scholarship and Awards
General Information
The UTC Music Department provides several scholarship and award opportunities to students on the basis of talent, ability, dedication, effort, and demonstrated need. There are three basic categories of these awards: performance grants awarded to incoming freshman as well as continuing students funded through the UC Foundation, scholarships and awards given to continuing students based on personal achievement funded through endowments, and the most prestigious award, the Presser Scholar Award funded by the Theodore Presser Music Publishing Co.
Performance Grants
Performance grants are given to undergraduate and/or graduate students. The awarding of these grants reflects the music department faculty's strong commitment to developing and maintaining excellent student performing ensembles. Funding for these awards is through the UC Foundation.
Performance grants are awarded based on competitive auditions. Please see the Audition Requirements on the Audition page for specific requirements for each area. Obligations may include participation in one or more large ensembles and enrollment in applied instruction in the appropriate instrument or voice.
Performance grants are renewable for up to four years if all continuation requirements are met.
