First Generation Student Programing
A first generation student is one whose parent(s) have not completed a four-year college degree. UTC offers many programs that are designed to help students who are the first in their family to go to college make the transition and connect with other students like them. Some of these programs include a living learning community, a mentor program and a day of celebration recognizing first-gen students.

Moc Up
Experience college through a free and exciting one-week residential program. This program is designed to familiarize students with the campus, student resources and current students, faculty and staff.

Bridge
Get a jump start on your college experience with this five-week summer program. Earn eight credit hours towards your degree, make friends and get comfortable on campus before freshman year even begins.

Peer Mentors
Student Success Programs uses peer mentors to staff Moc Up, Bridge and the First Year Studies course. Peer mentors are upperclassmen who have a desire to connect with and be a resource for first-year students and First Year Studies faculty.
