Make An Appointment
Special Collections strongly encourage appointments for all researchers, including students, faculty, and staff. We will give researchers who make appointments priority for limited seating in Special Collections. Otherwise, researchers will be served in the George Connor Reading Room (LIB 439) on a first-come, first-served basis. Researchers using Special Collections material may displace visitors who are not using materials housed in the repository.
Appointments are most useful for researchers when they submit a list of resources they would like to review onsite prior to their arrival in Special Collections. We strongly encourage you to review our Frequently Asked Questions and search the following resources before submitting an appointment request.
We can also help you with a paper, project or other research-related topic. Complete the form below and we'll arrange to place archival materials on hold or for one of our archivists to meet with you in person. When describing your research need, provide as many details as possible, including relevant dates, locations, names, and formats. The more information you provide, the better we can direct you to useful resources so that you make the most of your appointment in Special Collections.
If you are not a UTC student or faculty/staff member, you may request guest access to the University's wireless network using the form below.
Appointments are available during our hours of operation. Requests may take up to 5 business days to process.
