You can refer someone who is already in the USA or someone who will apply for the F1 visa from within their country. You may NOT refer a student who is currently registered at UTC or who has ever been registered at UTC. And no, unfortunately, you cannot refer yourself.

Who may I refer?

You can refer someone who is already in the USA or someone who will apply for F1 visa in their country. You may NOT refer a student who is currently registered at UTC or has ever been registered at UTC. You CANNOT refer yourself. 

Who is eligible for the referral reward?

Current ESL students at UTC. ESL Program alumni (students who studied at the ESL Institute in the past). Other UTC students and UTC alumni. UTC faculty and staff are NOT eligible. Study abroad advisors from partnering institutions are not eligible. Students arriving at UTC as part of exchange agreements cannot be referred.

What is the referral reward?

The person who makes a referral will receive one item of UTC apparel or accessories of a total value of under $100. One item per one referral. The student who was referred will receive one item of UTC apparel or accessories of a total value of under $100. One item per one referral. 

When will I receive my reward?

You will receive your reward after the deadline to drop a class at UTC passes and if the student you referred completes their first payment.

How do I get my reward?

The reward needs to be picked up at the ESL Institute’s office (Hooper Hall 202A, 615 McCallie Avenue, 37403 Chattanooga, TN).
