Film and Television Studies Minor

WELCOME TO TELEVISION AND FILM STUDIES!

The Television and Film Studies minor is a multi disciplinary approach to understanding the world through movies and television--  You can find our classes in Modern Language, Theater, Communications and English, among others. We analyze but also make productions, and we are excited to have you join us!

6-hour core consisting of:

• THSP 2800 - Introduction to Film (HF)
• At least one class exploring films or TV content produced outside the United States:
• MLNG 1500R - World Cinema (CZ or HF)
• MLNG 1750 - World Cinema: Visualizing Latin American Cultures (CZ or HF)
• MLNG 2400 - African and Caribbean Film
• MLNG 3500R - Topics in World Cinema (CZ or HF)

Electives

The remaining 12 hours may be taken from any of the above courses, or from the following courses. Classes must come from at least two different disciplines.

Additional Information and Notes

Minimum 2.0 average in the minor.
Six credit hours may be applied to a major/concentration.
Eight credit hours must be at the 3000 level or above.

Minor Requirement

• Completion of a minor with a minimum 2.0 grade point average.
