At UTC, all students can participate in UR regardless of background, discipline, or year of study. Below are the steps to get you started.
Step 1: Register with our office
Connect with our office to get started on YOUR undergraduate research journey.
Step 2: Attend a Getting Started in Undergraduate Research workshop.
Learn how to locate positions and participate in UR on and off campus. Follow the link below to register for a session.
Step 3: Prepare for an undergraduate research position.
After you attend a getting started in UR workshop, you should attend the follow up workshop, Navigating an Undergraduate Research Position. This hands-on workshop will help you identify a research mentor, locate open UR positions, and prepare for UR success.
Step 4: Meet with Us
Meet with us to determine your undergraduate research action plan.
Step 5: Contact Prospective Mentors
Contact prospective mentors to conduct a research informational interview. Contact the Office for URaCE to learn more.
Step 6: Apply for Undergraduate Research Opportunities on and off campus
Apply for one of our programs.
