Transfer Scholarship
Renewable award of $2,000 per year for transfer students.
To be eligible for this scholarship, transfer students should first apply for admission.
The next step is to apply for scholarships. Both applications are required for candidates to be considered for this scholarship.
Since funding is limited, consideration will only be given to students entering UTC in the Fall semester and who meet all the following criteria:
- UTC Admissions checklist completed by June 1, 2025;
- ANY/ALL transfer credits/transcripts submitted to UTC Admissions by June 1, 2025;
- Cumulative GPA of 3.25 AND 60 Earned Semester Hours (or equivalent in associates degree in an AA, AS or AST);
- Online scholarship application submitted by July 1, 2025.
This award is only available to first-time undergraduate students. It cannot be stacked with other renewable scholarships or endowed scholarships offered through our office and UTC Admissions. It Can Be stacked with departmental scholarships, as well as outside scholarships.
Eligible students may also receive the Tennessee HOPE Lottery Scholarship funds, if eligible, but a review is required. Email our office to request that review be done.
Apply early. Scholarship funds are limited and the awarding process is competitive. Meeting the eligibility requirements does not guarantee a student will receive a scholarship.
- Renewal Terms and Conditions
It is the student's sole responsibility to print and/or save these terms and conditions for future reference. If you would like to share this with your UTC academic advisor, please do so. However, please keep in mind, your UTC academic advisor is Not Responsible for a student's financial aid and/or scholarships. Students should inquire with the Mocs One Center if questions arise.
This scholarship is renewable. You can receive up to a total of four (4) semesters or graduation with your UTC *advanced degree, whichever comes first. Summer funding is Not Available under this program.
You must be enrolled at least full-time each Fall and Spring semester. Full-time is 12+ credit hours for undergraduate students (or 9+ credit hours for graduate school students).
If, during a Fall or Spring semester, you totally withdraw from classes, do not attend your classes, do not enroll in at least full-time (as mentioned above), or transfer to another school, you forfeit the scholarship for ALL future semesters.
Your academic performance is reviewed at the end of each Spring semester if your award began in the Fall (OR at the end of every Fall if your award began in Spring). Please allow 1-2 weeks after official grades are released by the UTC Registrar for this to occur.
At the time of this review -
- You must have 24 Passed Hours for the current Fall/Spring (or Spring/Fall if your award began in Spring). Your Passed Hours are found on your Unofficial Transcript in your MyMocsNet.
- Your Overall Cumulative GPA must be at least a 3.00 to renew your UTC Transfer Scholarship. Your Overall GPA is also found on your Unofficial Transcript in your MyMocsNet.Courses taken AFTER our review WILL NOT be considered. There is not a reinstatement option for students who do not meet the renewal criteria.
We do offer an appeal for students with extreme personal or medical circumstances. The appeal can be submitted when one of the following occurred due to circumstances beyond the student's control. Regretfully, transferring to another school is an immediate forfeiture of this scholarship and Is Not appealable.
• You did not maintain the required cumulative GPA;
• You did not pass the required number of credit hours (or service/work hours);
• You have taken a fall or spring semester off and not attended classes;
• You have totally withdrawn from classes for the term, officially or unofficially.

*Notice regarding use for an advanced degree - UTC will allow these funds to be used towards an advanced UTC degree beginning with the 2025-26 academic year. Current recipients must graduate from UTC with their Bachelor's in May'2025 or after to qualify. Immediate & continuous enrollment into a UTC degree program at the Masters or Doctoral level is required, summer excluded.
